Sky Watch Friday

A view from the back of the Mayport Ferry, an auto ferry that crosses the St. Johns River from Mayport, Fl on the south bank to well... a ferry station on the north bank that is not near any true town - all of which is technically part of Jacksonville, Fl.

More on the Mayport Ferry in a few days - probably Sunday. Come back for more photos and a little more history! :)

like old tom wiggly said it's almost as if the boat is making waves in the sky i like that thought but wouldn't have thought about it if it weren't for someone else's perspective. thank you for sharing yours, beautiful photograph

Very nice capture from the ferry. The cloud formation seems to build to the steel work.

Great photo. I didn't know there was a ferry on the St. Johns. I enjoyed looking at all your Florida photos. I've lived here for 30 years, and it is always a joy to find someone who is enjoying the history and natural landscape of the state.

The sun peeks in on the photo like a cherry on top of a sundae. Very nice.

Happy Easter!

I love how the clouds seem to be like the ferry's exhaust, trailing out behind the boat.
