And the parade of new and interesting (Erin would say disgusting) insects continues, this time with a fascinating green and gold beetle I saw in the backyard a few weekends ago. I've never seen one quite like it. The pictures don't do justice to how shiny it was - it almost looked like an emerald on top and golden amber on the bottom:
